What mounting options are available?

Pikkuna provides five versatile mounting methods, each designed for specific installation scenarios and surface types:

Turn Buttons (Most Popular)
Turn buttons are our most common mounting method, ideal for attaching clear vinyl curtains to wooden beams, pillars, and frames. Each button requires two screws for secure attachment and creates reliable tension points. The buttons should be spaced at least 5 cm from corners and edges, with intervals of approximately 30-50 cm along each edge for optimal tension and wind resistance. Turn buttons are perfect when you want a semi-permanent solution that allows seasonal removal—simply rotate the button to release the curtain edge.

Hooks (90-Degree Mounting)
Hooks are the preferred choice when mounting on perpendicular or non-flush surfaces where the curtain edge needs to wrap around a corner or beam at a right angle. They work excellently on posts, columns, and L-shaped frames. Important: avoid using hooks on both opposite sides simultaneously without combining them with another mounting method on the remaining edges, as this won't provide sufficient tension. Hooks are best paired with turn buttons or screws on adjacent edges.

Velcro (Quick Installation)
Velcro mounting uses industrial-strength hook-and-loop tape attached to wooden frames with a stapler gun. This method offers the easiest and fastest installation—simply press the curtain edge against the Velcro strip to secure it. Velcro is ideal for temporary installations or when you frequently need to remove and reinstall the curtain (for example, seasonal use or cleaning). The downside is that Velcro may not provide as much tension as mechanical fasteners on very large curtains exposed to strong winds.

Screws (Permanent Installation)
Screws driven directly through the curtain's reinforced border provide the most secure, permanent attachment. This method is recommended when you don't plan to remove the curtain frequently, or when paired with a zipper door that allows you to roll up the curtain without dismantling the edges. Screws work on any surface that accepts fasteners—wood, metal, or composite materials—and provide maximum tension and wind resistance.

Weighted Bottom Edge
The weighted bottom edge is a specialized bottom-mounting option where a removable weight bar slides into a sewn pocket at the bottom of the curtain. The weight stretches the curtain vertically under its own
